Different Driver Training Program

To drive a truck, you must have a special permit, which you can get if you complete a Truck driving school.

To drive a truck, you cannot use the training you completed when you got your license to drive a passenger car. For this, special training is necessary, in which there are also different programs.

There is a CDL class A truck driver training program. The program is designed for those who have no experience as a tow truck driver. The time allotted for this training is 192 hours which can be completed from 3 to 6 weeks. It will depend on the candidate’s success in mastering certain classes. In these training classes, each candidate will learn to drive a vehicle, gain practice in safe driving, learn all state traffic laws, learn how to keep a log book, and how to perform a pre-trip inspection.

Truck Driving School

The PDL program for truck and bus drivers is Class B. This program includes driving training classes, vehicle parking training and prepares students for entry-level jobs in transportation.

The requirements that must be met for both training are that the candidate must be at least 18 years old, must have a valid driver’s license, must have a commercial learner’s permit, a valid DOT physical is required, reading and writing skills are required, as well as an understanding of the English language and ultimately must be legally able to be employed in the United States.
